The regular Club 10 season ended on a high last night as a strong field of 21 riders took on the popular Hingham to Carbrooke course, all breaking the magic 20mph average with the top 12 riders crossing the line in under 24minutes at an average of over 25mph.
Tom Fitzpatrick took the top spot with a buffer of nearly 30seconds over Epic Orange rider Dan Blackburn with times of 21.17 and 21.46 respectively. Ryan Gray of Rider Harder completed the podium in 22.10 ahead of Breckland’s 10 mile specialist Tom Carroll in 22.20 with James Walsgrove of Rider Harder in 5th in a time of 22.54. With only 3 seconds separating 6th, 7th and 8th it was a photo finish between CC Breckland’s Adam Cross, Geoff Frost of VeloVelocity and UEA rider Joe Gyde, with times of 23.05, 23.06 and 23.08 respectively.
Great to see local riders Pete Fuller, Carl Mace and Lisa Hall riding strong, along with Super Vet Chris Nudd.
Next Wednesday is the first of two 5 mile time trials, with the first rider off at 18.45 and 18.30 the following week. Meet in the layby between the Carbrooke Crossroads and Scoulton.
