Chapman leads the way in Breckland opener
This weekend saw the start of the time trial season for many in the Cycling Club Breckland 10 mile time trial, held on the popular B10/19 course from Hingham to Carbrooke and back.
On a warm, but windy day, the 43 strong field set off into a blustery head/cross wind which proved particularly tough on the exposed section through Scoulton.
Loose Cannon Conditioning's Lloyd Chapman couldn't better his own course record, but took the win with a commanding victory in a time of 20.42. Daniel Bloy, Team VeloVelocity, narrowly edged Nick Partridge, VC Baracchi, to second with times of 21.12 and 21.15.
Tom Carrol was the fastest Breckland rider in a time of 22.33, followed by Adam Cross in 24.02 and Chris Nudds in 25.01. Mark Fairhead and Nick Paravanni also made it a good day for Breckland with times of 25.55 and 29.02 respectively.
Cindy Benyon of DAP CC lead the way in the women's category with a time of 24.31, closely followed by Hannah O'Brien of Loose Cannon Conditioning in 24.58.
Despite the tough conditions, Ian Pike of Lincoln Wheelers set a new Tricycle Course Record with a time of 25.32, eclipsing Don Saunders' long standing record of 28:42.
