CCBreckland’s Tom Carroll and Mark Fairhead turned up the heat in this weekend’s Norwich ABC 10 held on the B10/3 from Whymondham to Mulbarton and back.
The on-form Carroll put in a strong ride, despite the hot and windy conditions to finish well in the field with a course personal best of 22.58. Also riding well, Mark finished in a time of 25.44. The winner, Daniel Bloy of Team VeloVelocity, was the only rider to break the 21minute barrier with a time of 20.35.
Doubling up for the weekend, Mark competed in the Sunday morning ECCA 25. Setting off before the temperature hit it’s height, Mark narrowly missed breaking the hour with a time of 1:00:20. The event was won by David Veitch of Lea Valley CC in a blistering sub 49minute ride.
On Friday night, Adam Cross took on Gas Hill Gasp, the annual sprint up one of Norwich’s steepest hills. Competing in the mountain bike category, Adam fought off tough competition through 3 heats to make it into the final where he finished 2nd.
Earlier in the week, in the midweek 10, Tom Carroll lead the way in 23.38 followed by Graham Dilks of Norwich ABC in 24.48. Mark Fairhead rounded off the podium in 26.15.
