The sunshine brought out some hot competition in this Wednesday’s 25 on the A11, from East Harling to Mulbarton and back, with 2nd and 3rd placed finishers registering the same time, only 12 seconds back from the winner Ben Stancombe of VeloVelocity with a time of 50:41.
CCB’s Adam Cross posted over a 2minute PB with a time of 55.21 to finish 11th of the 43 riders with Mark Fairhead battling worsening conditions as the temperature dropped and wind rose later in the field to finish in 1:04:51. The ladies competition was won by Great Yarmouth CC’s Jan Smith in a time of 1:02:07, the tandem pairing of Glenn Taylor and Mark ‘PNut’ Arnold finished in 48:22.
The previous weekend, in equally warm conditions, saw the Iceni Velo 10 on the B10/3. Adam led the way for CCB in a PB of 21.23, pipping Tom Carroll by only 1 second (who unfortunately forgot to sign out so will ultimately be classed as a DNF) Mark Fairhead rounded off the Breckland trio with a time of 23:45.
