The Ouse Washes Experience

Please find attached an update about progress for our new Cycling and Running Event – the Ouse Washes Experience now confirmed for Sunday 6th April.
Individual Entries are slowly picking up now and we are expecting our first Corporate Team Entry but we are very keen to secure the support of team entries (as well as individuals) from our local Running and Cycling Clubs. We have made some suggesions as how your Club could seek support to enter a team from our sister Rotary Clubs
The event is rapidly getting the attention of the “Powers that Be”, Cambs County Council have committed a much welcomed special grant to partly underwrite our Club’s set up costs for the event so it will definitely happen come rain or shine! and Steve Barclay MP for N.E.Cambs has agreed to attend the event – media attention is growing so there is a very real opportunity to raise the profile for local Runners and Cyclists wanting to expand the opportunities for improved access to our countryside – but we do need lots of participants and April 6th is only a few weeks away – please note that the route is as weatherproof as possible even with all the recent rain the track is fine – some big puddles for sure but a good firm surface everywhere!
Please encourage all your members to enter and hopefully we can see over 30 teams from our local Running and Cycling Clubs on the 6th April.
